11/06/2006: "My ship! My engine! My precious!"

Every good story needs a crzzy old guy! Maybe?

In this case, the crazy old guy is the ship's engineer. But it wasn't planned that way. While the boy, Vertigo, was found in space, this geezer sort of... came with the ship. He's been living in the engine room and doesn't want to leave! Surprisingly, he DOES keep the ship running smoothly. He is a little crazy, a little perverted, and totally filthy. Sometimes he'll talk to you while casually waving around his buthane torch... sometimes he'll holler and run around like a madman... sometimes he'll just hide in the maintenance ducts for weeks on end. Despite all this, there's no denying his technical prowess!

I gave him the name of Scurrinson Oboe, which has layers of meaning somewhere.
